Foucault’s artistic views have an important part in his whole thought, it’s necessary for us to understand him. Foucault’s did not explicitly put forward his artistic views in the painting comments, but instead of philosophic language. So when art meet philosophy and Magritte meet Foucault, we need to found on Foucault’s painting comments to analyze Foucault’s artistic views,starting from This is not a pipe, with the method of close reading and longitudinal comparing and the mutual corroboration of his painting views and philosophical thoughts.These artistic views not only have important significance for the traditional philosophy thinking, but also appropriate for the present problems in our modern life, for it guide us to think of the issue with a critical insight. This alternative way of thinking, reflected Foucault’s transformation in the dilemma of the power,but the vanity construction of the non-pensant, ultimately bring Foucault himself into the maze.
