Through the Han Dynasty, the literary concept gradually became clear, from Wei Jin to the southern and Northern Dynasties, the literature was no longer the client of the Confucian classics, and gradually became independent, finally the status of literature had been greatly improved. In the stage when literature concept has not yet formed, the budding of Wen-Tao relations had already appeared in the pre-Qin classics. During the period of Renzong to Zhezong’s seventy years, because the national politics maintained long-term stable development and literacy level was improved, writings and critics about the Northern Song Dynasty entered a period of prosperity. When Fan Zhongyan was committed to political reform, Ou Yangxiu held up the banner of reform in the field of literature. The fourth chapter is about the rise of the Jiangxi Poetry School, besides, the decline and the transformation of Wen-Tao relations in the late Northern Song Dynasty. In the late Northern Song Dynasty, literature was developed against the background of the domestic troubles and foreign invasions, the political turmoil and repeated factions. When the various kinds of literature gradually developed, after prose and poetry reached their peak, with great masters dies, literature inevitably went downhill. The last part is about the meaning and the scope of "Wen" and "Tao" in this paper. Besides, it contains the internal path through the development of Wen-Tao relationship.
