There are 6000 to7000 kinds of languages in the world. Each of them is special and has its own style. Armenian language and Chinese language are part of these 6000 kings of languages. Armenian belongs to Indo-European branch; Chinese belongs to Sino-Tibetan branch in the family tree of the world languages. This already proves that our languages are very different. In this thesis I compare the compliment in Armenian and in Chinese languages. Studying the compliments in these two languages I found that the concept of the compliment in Armenian and Chinese are different. In Armenian language except subject and predicate, the other members if the sentence are called compliment, but in Chinese compliment supplement the predicate and is put after it. There are two big groups of the compliment in Armenian:the compliment of the noun and the compliment of the verb. They are also divided into some other groups. In Chinese there are seven kinds of compliment:compliment of result, compliment of direction, compliment of possibility, compliment of degree, compliment of mood, compliment of amount and compliment of time and place. The thesis is made up of five chapters. Chapter one is the introduction, which mainly describes the background of selected theme, the books that I have used to do my research as well as the main content of this thesis; Chapter two introduces one main group of the compliment in Armenian:that is the compliment of the noun. It is divided into three (?) other main part of the compliment in Armenian:that is the compliment of #12 (adverbial modifier). They are also divided in some other groups. Chapter four is the most important part of this thesis, which mainly introduces the similarities and differences of the compliment in Armenian and in Chinese. Chapter five speaks of the difficulties of the Armenian students in learning the compliment of Chinese language, and also it includes some advices to Armenian students in learning Chinese complement; and the last patr is the conclusion.
