Monggolojm is located in the northwest of Liaoning Province, roughly coinciding with the Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County in Liaoning Province. In the 18 th century, Monggolijm residents removed their tribe here from the Hetao area, and integrated with the local Han and Mongolian nationality as well as other minorities. The collision sparks of language, culture and art between Han and Mongolian nationality produced the famous short narrative folk songs and some higher artistic music type such as Hren.Uli Siegel. Therefore, the Monggolojm area is also known as “The Sea of Songs” as well as “The Cradle of Uli Siegel Art”.Hren.Uli.Siegel, a Mongolian rap art with a long history, is an art form of Huerqi hand four-stringed bowed instrument played and sang all by oneself. It is the production of the interaction and combination between Han and Mongolian cultures. Hren.Uli.Siegel has a high research value and the songs performed are mostly from classical literature books, chapter novels, historical stories and interpretations, etc.Base on the performance of Mongolian heroic epic Taoli, Hren.Uli.Siegel is derived from an integration of the rhythm of Haobaolai as well as the tunes of Mongolian folk songs. Because of its inheritance of Taoli music, art performance and traditional, Hren.Uli.Siege has a close relationship with the original Mongolian Religion-Bo Jiao, which related to Taoli closely, and also with Hren. Haolaibao as well as some music type such as the narrative folk songs. Since the beginning of the early 19 th century, the vivid story plots, beautiful lyrics, rich emotions and unique expression method bestowed Uli.Siegel a strong prairie life sense, and made it become the herdsmen’s favorite. However, after the nineties of last century, due to the market impact and the continuous emerging of modern entertainment programs and facilities, Hren. Uli Sigel in Monguolijm area faced an awkward situation just like other traditional music did. Most of the younger Mongolian generations are unable to appreciate their own traditional music due to the lack of Mongolian Language. In addition, the pass of the famous Huerqi and various factors also adds to the difficulty in the inheritance of Hren. Uli Sigel and made it always in a danger of “fault”.The current research makes an exploration on the Hren. Uli Sigerl from its history, music forms, its relationship with Bo Jiao as well as a comparison between it and other music types. It attempts to enrich previous Mongolian scholars’ researches on Monggolojm Hren. Uli Sigerl and also researchers on the difference between narrative folk songs and Haolaibao. The author hopes that by an overview and an analysis of its outlook, more people will get to know and pay attention to this kind of minority music, thus making Hren. Uli Sigerl better developed and heritages.
