Using to the case study of 10 polysemous verbs “qing”, “song”, “mai”, “chi”, “da” etc. with objects by Chinese Verb Usage Dictionary and Common Balanced Corpus of Modern Chinese by Language Commission of China, the paper carries on the statistical survey and data analysis of Chinese polysemous verbs with objects from the sentence mood perspective. Through the research, the regularity of sentence mood is that the proportion of declarative sentences occupies the most rates, the proportion of imperative sentences occupies the least rate, and interrogative sentences are slightly more than exclamatory sentences. The regularity of sentences which contains polysemous verbs with objects is generally identical with the regularity of sentence mood, but it still has some specific distributed characteristics. On this basis, the paper gives some teaching suggestions: implement teaching aimed at the regularity of sentences which contains polysemous verbs with objects; confirming the teaching points of verb-object construction according to the cognitive level of students. The chapters of this paper are as follows:Chapter One is the basis of the whole paper, which forwardly surveyed the condition of those selected polysemous verbs with objects without considering the sentence mood, stated the standard of seletion of common polysemous verbs, sorted out 10 polysemous verbs’ sense and the condition of these 10 polysemous verbs with objects in Chinese Verb Usage Dictionary and the corpus, and finally summarized their distribution in 13 different kinds of objects.Chapter Two is the focus of the whole paper. In this part, the paper mainly made the modal mark on those sentences in the corpus which contain polysemous verbs with objects. And based on indicative mood, interrogative mood, imperative mood and exclamatory mood, the paper also counted occurrence number of polysemous verbs with different objects severally. According to the comparative analysis, we found that the differences of the number of sense and the types of objects will lead to the difference of the regularity of sentence mood in sentences which contain polysemous verbs with objects. Among them, the four sequences of sentence mood which were appeared in “polysemous verb which has fewer senses + object” and “polysemous verb + location objects/patient object” are same with the regularity of sentence mood itself; the four sequences of sentence mood which were appeared in “polysemous verb which has rich senses + object” and “polysemous verb + object(except for location object and patient object)” are different with the regularity of sentence mood.Chapter Three is the application of the whole paper. According to the research results that the author mentioned before, based on the existing teaching theories, we tried to give some suggestions for students’ learning of polysemous verbs with objects from sentence mood perspective.Through the research of the above,it will further advance the grammar study of Chinese polysemous verbs with objects and the research on teaching methodology of polysemous verbs with objects.
