An Analysis Of The Misuse Of Chinese Euphemism In Thai

In the field of foreign Chinese euphemism, few articles to research the euphemism acquisition of students from diffident country.In this paper, we study the Thai students, we use the second language acquisition theory, the error analysis theory and euphemism research theory.We combine corpus study, questionnaires and interviews and other methods, investigate and analysis of the overall Thai students euphemistic expression situation.Found a lot of problems for students to master the vocabulary class aspects of euphemism, We conclude that the misuse reasons of Thai students euphemistic expression is cultural factors negative transfer, negative transfer of knowledge of the target language, the adverse impact of the learning environment and the impact of communication strategies.Sentence class euphemism, since the migration of cultural and pragmatic, students express rejection, criticism, suggestions, tend to use the euphemism. But there are some problems: First of all, some students do not understand the power relations and other relations in Chinese culture, can not select the right words to express according to the communication objects; Secondly, the students is not sensitive to pragmatic functions of the sentence and does not recognize similar sentence pragmatic differences, resulting in some bias. Thirdly, when students are not able to fully grasp the target language,When faced with some contents that is difficult for them to express,they adopted a simplified, direct expression to replace the euphemistic expression, resulting in misuse.In addition, we conducted a comparative analysis based on survey data, found that the Chinese language itself, the level of students and language environment have close relationship with students learned Chinese euphemism expression. Finally, we propose some teaching suggestions,such as developing students’ Chinese thinking mode, setting the context of teaching and so on.
