A Study Of Bu Yi 's

The research for quantifiers is always an important topic in the research of Sino-Tibetan language. Buyi language has a lot of quantifiers, not only they embody characteristics of Sino-Tibetan quantifiers, but also characteristics of their own language. The purpose of paper is to understand main features of quantifiers of Buyi language in semantics and grammar. The research methods of paper are: the literature research, the field investigation, the comparative research. As same as general quantifiers’ research, paper divides quantifiers of Buyi language into noun quantifiers and verb quantifiers, and then it divides noun quantifiers into special noun quantifiers and borrowed noun quantifiers, and divides verb quantifiers into special verb quantifiers and borrowed verb quantifiers. The paper focuses on discussing different noun quantifiers and verb quantifiers of Buyi language in semantical difference. It analyzes how quantifiers of Buyi language weigh different things from their shape and properties. The paper analyzes five grammatical features of quantifiers of Buyi language, they are: the prefix of quantifiers, the overlapping use of quantifiers, the ellipsis of quantifiers, the grammaticalization of quantifiers, the syntactic functions of quantitative phrase. Finally, the paper analyzes diversification of Buyi language in structures of quantifiers’ phrase.
