Artists need to know themselves, observe themselves, and hunt for the elements in life that fit into their own emotions and feelings. Meanwhile artists also need to pursue self-enhancement. As their understanding of themselves and life constantly improved, artists must keep exploring and practicing, to find new ways of communication with the audiences. This paper, written based on my 7-year training experience in China Central Academy of Fine Arts, analyzes the reflection of "ego" in several artists’ paintings from various aspects, and concludes that the formation of "ego" is a very long but important journey. Just as the title of this paper has pointed out, an artist is a disciplinant who lives a life of pursuit and dedication. |
