This paper use the relationship between language and sculpture as a guide, from the perspective of linguistic, trying to discover how the word "sculpture" could denote so many things. The author firstly analyzing the word "art" which previous studies neglected details aims at putting the word "sculpture" in same consideration. Then analyze the semantic meaning and pragmatic usage of the term "sculpture", pointed out why the different of usage of East-West confuse people. Then analyze the relationship between "Sculpture" and sculptures, and also discussing how language could order the things.Finally demonstrated the situation of "sculpture" in laws of language and proved the "value" of "sculpture". This paper also demonstrated the reason why of difficult using the term "Sculpture" to define the entity sculptures from the language point of view. And also showed the variability of "sculpture" of the actual use in reality.
