Proverbs are very important in the national language, which is the essence of human life experience for thousands of years. Because of the cultural background of different nationalities, living habits, geographical location, natural environment, thinking mode, aesthetic taste and so on, the symbolic meaning of the animals is not the same. Both Chinese and Uygur proverbs reflect the characteristics of animal appearance, behavior, habits, habits, and so on. For example, commonly used some ferocious animal described dismal, insatiably avaricious cunning, commit all sorts of people. Use a tame animal to describe a simple, kind, honest worker. In the long development of human society, human beings and animals depend on one side, and the animals provide a sufficient material basis for the survival and development of mankind. In Chinese and Uygur proverbs, many animal words are endowed with a variety of symbolic meaning, and reflects the strong national culture. Some animal words, in people’s minds, are not only referring to animals. Some animals have the same appearance, habits and qualities, and have the same characteristics. People naturally give them different symbolic meanings.This paper is made up of four parts: the first part introduces the research purpose and significance of this thesis, the research and the summary of the symbolic significance. The second part introduces 6 common animal words in Chinese and Uygur proverbs are compared, including horses, cattle, dogs, foxes, wolves, dragon, the animal symbolic meanings are compared. The third part introduces the cultural factors of animal words in Chinese and Uygur proverbs, and the influence of history and culture, discusses the influence with the folk culture and religious culture. The fourth part introduces the methods of translation of animal words in Chinese and Uygur proverbs. In this paper, always around the symbolic meaning and translation methods of animal words in Chinese and Uygur proverbs.By comparison of the animal in Chinese and Uygur proverbs basic analysis of the symbolic meaning, the national characteristics of animal symbolic significance is emphasized from different angles, in order to better understand the differences between different cultures.
