Zen Ji Proverb

Zen books are looked as one of the spoken language literatures of Tang and Song dynasties. The value of linguistic materials in Zen books can rival Dunhuang documents. There are mary Tang and Song's common sayings in Zen books, which reflected the actual situation about people using language. So, spoken language is main parts of Zen books. Proverb is an language unit that is popular and spoken language. Proverb is not only the language unit that people often use in daily life, but also the language unit that is used in spoken language literatures. The character of spoken language agreed with the style of Zen book's language, so there are abundant proverbs mat became an important expressiongs about language in Zen books. Before, in academic circles, many scholars studied Zen books' language but ignored to study proverbs, or observated proverbs but not to study Zen books' language. The merging study about two fieldes has not be seen in actually. The thesis study proverb that is in Zen books the reveal flexibility and peculiarity of proverbs from the dynamic angle. The paper includes belowe several substances:The first chapter is an introduction to proverbs. In academic circles, difference of proverbs nature always exists. To defin proverbs ,we try to study the proverb's nature, characters ,area etc, and give an more scientific definition to proverbs.The second chapter in the structure of proverb in Zen books .This chapter from still and dynamic angles, analyse the proverbs' structure categoty, to show the feature of proverbs in structure.The third chapter is semantic meaning of proverbs in Zen books. In Zen books ,because of Zen idea and thought way, the proverb appear many semantic meanings, some are non-metaphor, some are metaphor. Substance of this chapter is to analyse the proverbs' meanings from dynamic angle. So, we can show the rich feature of proverbs semantic meaning in dynamic course.The forth chapter is study the proverbs' sources and development we try to analyse changing forms of proverbs, furthermore, to show the flexible feature and peculiarity of proverbs.The fifth chapter is the purpose and character of using proverbs in Zen books. In this chapter we analyse the founctions and characters of proverbs in Zen books, in oder to show its' study value.
