With the improving of the China’s comprehensive national strength and the rapid development of economic globalization, Chinese and Chinese culture have caught great attention and promotion all over the world. While many countries keep launching Chinese education plans, China has been committed to the promotion of Chinese as a foreign language for many years, and scholars in China have also conducted many researches on theory and practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In the context of cross-cultural communication, the transmission of Chinese cultural information cannot be ignored in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Language and culture are inseparable, and they have integrated into each other, so the combination of language and culture plays an important role in the realization of cross-cultural communication. The establishment of national cultural semantics are of great practical value to language teaching and language use. Semantic teaching has been a part of language teaching, and for new learners, it has been quite difficult to understand the cultural meaning of words, so the range of words application is limited, and words are frequently misused in many cases, so in this case, cross-cultural communication is not smooth.Learning the culturally-loaded words does not simply mean to learn the language ontology, but also to understand words background and cultural knowledge. Acquiring the cultural connotations and combining the language with culture are the only way to better grasp the language, so as to achieve cross-cultural communication.Nowadays, the culturally-loaded words in teaching Chinese as a foreign languageteaching has not been paid enough attention. On one side, learners’ can’t understand theculturally-loaded words, on the other side, teaching methods are rare, thus it’s difficultfor learners to get comprehensive cultural meanings of words.Based on the above situation,in this article, the author summarizes the definition of cultural connotations andculturally-loaded words from previous research findings, combines the selection andanalysis of culturally-loaded words in the outline of new HSK vocabulary, studies theselection of Chinese culturally-loaded words in typical teaching materials and thecharacteristics of these words, investigates the current teaching and learning status ofculturally-loaded words, thus to put forward valuable suggestions on culturally-loadedwords teaching, this thesis aims to provide valuable guidance to culturally-loaded wordsteaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language in future.
