This is a study about the phonetics of the Chinese loanwords in the Yao language.It mainly talking about the main layer of middle ancient times of Chinese loanwords.The material of this paper comes from the author that survey in Fuyao village of Pingle county in Guangxi. In order to sort out the pronunciation system of the Yao language, the author use new technology on field research and new methods on experimental phonetics, which on the basis of the traditional method of survey and description. And then separating the morphemes through the morpheme segmentation software, and sorting out all kinds of pronunciation of middle Chinese in Pingle’s Yao language by using Chinese dialects computer processing systems. Meanwhile,the author make a detailed analysis on the historical strata of Chinese loanwords by using historical strata analysis, thus to provide some valuable reference for studing on Pingle’s Yao language ontology research, Chinese historical relationship and ethnonymics research and so on.This paper has four chapters. The first chapter is introduction. It introduces the general situation of the human geography of Pingle county and the research of predecessors in the Yao language. It also mentions the research significance, objectives and research method of this paper. Chapter two describes the phonetic system and the characteristics of the vowels of the Yao language, including the initals, the finals, the tones and syllable type.Chapter three is the key point of this paper. It divides the Pingle’s Yao language into modern times and ancient times, and focuses on the phonetics of Chinese loanwords in the middle ancient times.Chapter four is conclution.This chapter summarizes the above and explains some questions that failed to solve.Besides, it puts forward some ideas for further research.
