Numerous studies have shown that the adult attachment and self-identity have significant effect on intimate relationship satisfaction. This study explored the relationship among college students’adult attachment, self-identity and intimate relationship satisfaction and formulated intervention method among them and discussed the effectiveness of the intervention method. This paper includes two researches:Study one:Using matural scales to inventory the basic situation of college students’adult attachment, self-identity and intimate relationship satisfaction and studied the relationships between those three factors.Study 2:According to the results of the study 1, combined with existing group intervention methods, this study designed a group intervention method and used experimental group and control group to test the effectiveness of the group intervention. It used "before and after test" to measure the change of the experimental group and control group students, together with the method of qualitative evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the intervention method.The conclusions of this study are as follows:1. College students’adult attachment was significantly associated with intimate relationship satisfaction. The attachment intimacy could positively predict intimate relationship satisfaction. The attachment anxiety could negatively predicted intimate relationship satisfaction.2.College students’self-identity was significantly associated with intimate relationship satisfaction. The Identity achieved could positively predict intimate relationship satisfaction; Identity diffusion could negatively predict the intimate relationship satisfaction.3.College students’adult attachment was significantly associated with self-identity. The attachment intimacy could positively predict Identity achieved and Identity moratorium, negatively predict the Identity foreclosure and Identity diffusion. Attachment anxiety could negatively predict the Identity achieved, positively predict the Identity foreclosure and Identity diffusion.4. College students’self-identity partly mediated the influence of adult attachment on intimate relationship satisfaction.5. The group intervention, which aimed at enhancing college students’adult attachment and self-identity could effectively improve the college students’intimate relationship satisfaction.The above conclusions had verified the mediating role of college students’ self-identity between the adult attachment and intimate relationship satisfaction. This paper enriched the theoretical research in related fields and verified the effectiveness of the group intervention, which could effectively improve the college students’ intimate relationship satisfaction. This result enriched the research on the practice of intimacy relationship counseling in colleges.
