A Comparative Study Of Animal Riddle Culture In The Same Reformation Of Han And

A riddle is a language game designed according to the characteristics of human cognition, is a cultural product of the human intelligence developed to a certain stage. Due to regional different folk-customs, languagesect and other differences in cultural heritage, a riddle has distinct tracts related to place and period.Riddle is a treasure of traditional culture; it is a kind of unique art form of traditional folk literature. This paper takes the Chinese and Thai animal riddle as research subject, using contrastive linguistics, lexicology, cultural linguisticsectcarry on analysis theory. The following four aspects of Chinese and Thai animal riddle have been compared and analysed:the basic situation of Chinese and Thai animal riddle; the scope of research involving the Chinese and Thai animal riddle; the cultural implication contained in the Chinese and Thai animal riddle; the cultural similarities and differences between Chinese and Thai animal riddle in corresponding situation.Through the comparison of related Chinese and Thai animal riddles, it is found that no matter what reason or development power has caused it, they are closely related to the factors of the nation’s historical background, customs, religion, social life, cultural tradition and ecological environmentect. These riddles are from the social practices and productive life, and are constantly developing and becoming more perfect. It is the thought essence of working people created and refined in practice. Therefore, people’s understanding of the animals and their association is not the same. Through the comparison of Chinese and Thai animal riddles similarities and differences, the corresponding conceptual meaning and figurative meaning are also different. This semantic difference not only reflects their own cultural characteristics, but is also of advantages to the development of cultural exchanges between China and Thailand.
