The folk belief is a kind of unique and important cultural phenomenon in the process of human history, a lot of literary works can reflect the traces of folk beliefs.Yi Yuan is a mystery novel collection in the Wei Jin Southern and Northern Dynasties period, it has diverse themes and abundant contents, reflects a lot of contents and minds of folk beliefs. Study on the folk beliefs in the literary works, not only can deepen our understanding of the contents and minds about the texts, also can help us to understand the status of folk belief in specific period. The author through careful reading and studying on the relevant works about Yi Yuan text and folk beliefs,according to the different folk belief objects and forms, research into the folk beliefs of Yi Yuan from three aspects of the gods and ghosts beliefs, witchcraft beliefs and religious beliefs.The introduction part mainly introduces the research background, the present research situation and the basic conditions about the author and versions of Yi Yuan.The first part is the study of gods and ghosts beliefs in Yi Yuan, including two types of gods faith and ghosts faith, the main point is to conclude and analyze the forms of gods and ghosts beliefs in Yi Yuan.The second part is the study of witchcraft beliefs in Yi Yuan, including augury,anthroposcopy, prophecy and so on, the main point is to conclude and analyze the forms of witchcraft beliefs in Yi Yuan.The third part is the study of religion beliefs in Yi Yuan, including Buddhism beliefs and Taoism beliefs two types. First gives an overview about the spread and development situation of Buddhism and Taoism in the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties period, then according to the two types to conclude and analyze the forms of Buddhism and Taoism beliefs in Yi Yuan.
