Because that Shang Shu occupied important positions in studying ancient China’s politics, emperors and researchers in every dynasty laid stress on the creation process, dissemination and application of Shang Shu, and hence make it a science named Shang Shu subject. Shang Shu subject has rich content and deep thoughts. Many political ideas the ancient saints talking about in Xia, Shang and Zhou Periods exerted an important influence in state politics of later ages.Because that the Spring and Autumn Period were a turbulent epoch, Shang Shu subject was often applied to the national governance by rulers of different feudatory states,which had contributed a lot in the development of Shang Shu subject in the Spring and Autumn Period. So we have a comprehensive research on the development and process of Shang Shu subject in the Spring and Autumn Period. It can not only shows political visage and social thought of this period, but also attaches importance to the profound historical and academic value in establishing its status in Confucian classics and affecting the development of Shang Shu subject in later ages.Research on the development of Shang Shu subject in the Spring and Autumn.Period should base on the history of this era. And yet Zuo Zhuan and Guo Yu are the selected reference materials of the Spring and Autumn Period history. So this paper is based on Zuo Zhuan and Guo Yu,then shows the phased,regional, subjectivity and thoughtful features of Shang Shu subject in the Spring and Autumn Period by analyzing the documents quoted by Zuo Zhuan and Guo Yu in the four areas of time, region, figure and thought,so we can make a comprehensive research on the development of Shang Shu subject in the Spring and Autumn Period.In terms of time, people in vary phases of the Spring and Autumn Period studied Shang Shu subject to varying degrees. Specifically, Shang Shu was quoted relatively seldom in the early period, frequently in the middle period and often in the late period.People in Lu Zhaogong period cited Shang Shu very often, and had tapered off the number of citations since then. So the development of Shang Shu subject in the Spring and Autumn Period had obvious attribute of phase. In terms of region, influenced by political, economic, military, history, geography and other factors, the development of Shang Shu subject in the vassal state is different.In these vassal states, Shang Shu in Jin, Zhou, Lu and Zheng developed well.This paper soughts to buttress that with quotations from Shang Shu cited by people of vassal states and launches a preliminary study on the reasons combining with the historical and cultural background of each country. In terms of people who cite Shang Shu, the ruling bureaucrats made up the bulk. The ruling bureaucrats became the main force to promote the development of Shang Shu subject in the Spring and Autumn Period by wide quotation and application of Shang Shu,which also showed their absolute status as the leaders of the culture of the Spring and Autumn Period.In addition, Jun Zi also quoted a lot from Shang Shu recorded by Zuo Zhuan and Guo Yu. In this paper,we has pointed out the important role played by Shang Shu subject of “Jun Zi Yue” in the development of Shang Shu subject in the Spring and Autumn Period on the basis of w ho is Jun Zi. In terms of thought, the thought of Shang Shu is rich and essence. It’s political thought is the source of the early political thought of ancient China. In this paper, we point out the influences of political thought of Shang Shu from three aspects of heavenly order conception, conceptions of monarchs virtue and people-oriented thought on the Spring and Autumn Period, then prove its significant impact and absolute value in the establishment of China’s thousands of years political thousands in China and the development of Shang Shu subject in later ages.
