Analysis On The Spatial Pattern Of Rural Settlements In Counties And Its Influencing Factors

Rural settlements are the sites of rural population living and production, whose formation and development greatly influenced by many factors, such as: natural factors, social, economy,culture, and so on. During the development of the rural settlements, the interactions among the geographic factors brings out unique spatial patterns and regional differentiation. New urbanization and urban-rural integration policy are also put forward new requirements to the rural settlement development. Therefore, the study of the spatial pattern characteristics and influencing factors of rural settlements can better reveal the formation of the rural settlements and the relationship between the life and the environment. It also has important practical significance to guide the rational planning and rural settlements sustainable and healthy development.This article takes the sishui county of shandong province as the research area, it uses landscape indices analysis and GIS spatial analysis methods to study the 2012 rural settlement spatial pattern characteristics of Sishui county, also, it analyses the influence of natural factors,such as terrain, altitude, slope, and social economic factors,such as economy, population policy planning on the rural settlement spatial patterns. Its purpose is to provide the reference to the rural settlement layout optimization, the rural land management and urban-rural integration development of Sishui county.Chapter one, introduction. It discusses the research background and significance, that is,national policy guidance and the speeding up of urbanization in rural settlements development brings opportunities at the same time also causes many problems. Sishui county is located in the mountainous, hilly and plain transition zone, according to the research status of rural settlements land at home and abroad, the study of Sishui county rural settlements spatial patterns and its influencing factors has its typical.Chapter two, profile of the study area and data source. The paper uses the land utilization alteration data in 2012 in Sishui county as the data source, classifies and extracts the data of rural settlements, roads, rivers with the help of ArcGIS 9.3, to get the rural settlements distribution of Sishui county, at the same time,it presents the natural, social economy and land use situation.Chapter three, The best analysis of particle size of the study of the rural settlements spatial patterns. The calculation results of the landscape index is closely related to the grid units size. Inorder to reflect the characteristics of landscape pattern in the study area more accurately, the paper analyzes the change characteristics of the landscape index along with the grain coarsening with the help of the landscape index granularity effect, and the paper selects 60 m size as the best analysis of particle size for the analysis landscape patterns.Chapter four, the spatial pattern characteristics of rural settlements. Based on the best analysis of particle size, the paper analyzes and describes the characteristics of rural settlement spatial patterns of Sishui county in 2012 from the following three aspects: the rural settlement spatial distribution, size and shape: Firstly, Sishui county has agglomeration rural settlement space distribution, has apparently regional differentiation characteristics, has small density,which presents such space distribution characteristics “ dense in the North and South, sparse in the middle”. Secondly, the scale of the rural settlements presents such a spatial distribution characteristics “ large in the middle, small in the North and the South”, and it has significant low concentration characteristics. Thirdly, there are obvious spatial differentiation characteristics in the following aspects: Rural settlements formation, rural settlement shape, complexity, continuity and fragmentation and so on.Chapter five, impact factor analysis of the rural settlements spatial pattern. The paper carries out qualitative and quantitative analysis to the factors that affects Sishui rural settlements spatial pattern from two aspects: nature and social-economy. Among them, the terrain, elevation,slope, rivers, roads, population and economy are the most important factors affecting rural Settlement spatial patterns of Sishui county.Chapter six, conclusion and Outlook. The writer summarizes of the thesis and discusses the flaws in the paper and the aspects that should be studied and improved in the further study according to the main conclusions of the thesis.
