The thesis is the translation practice report on legal textbooks Intellectual Property Law, whose specific tasks are the Chapter 29--Computer technology and intellectual property. The author takes the translation strategies of vague language and subject translation as case study, analyzing the characteristics of legal textbook. The translation of the vagueness in legal textbooks, we may take the strategies of “transplant” and ”veriation”. English legal texts are different from common texts, and subject translation is special. For the interpretation of the source text, we may take the strategy of subject reservation. For the translation of psssive sentences, we may take the strategy of subject conversion. For the translation of complex sentences, we take the method of division. For the sentence led by “it” as formal subject, we may take the strategy of subject omission. Besides, we may take the strategy of insertion in the subject clause. The author hopes to provide some valuable references for the same type of translation by summarizing strategies of vague language and subject translation. |
