| The ethnic group Ewenks is one of indigenous small nations in the north of Russia. Although the population of Ewenks is small, their residence covers a broad area, from the yeniseian river to the tokhotsk sea, from the arctic ocean to the amur river. For hundreds of years, Ewenks lived a traditional way of life in harmony with the nature. They raised reindeers, horses, hunted and lead a nomadic life. During the long historical process, Ewenks created unique national culture, absorbed the useful experiences from other ethnic groups, developed and enriched the cultrue of human beings.Using multidisciplinary literature, adopting methods of literature review and field researches, we conduct a comprehensive and systematic research on the national culture of Ewenks. As a result, we summarize the main features of Ewenks’cultrue, the difficulties and problems Ewenks experienced in the process of culture protection, then sum up the experiences and lessons of culture protection, which our country can learn from.Based on lots of literatures and abundant firsthand materials from field researches, a specific analysis and discussion on Ewenks’ culture and its protection is divided into following six parts:the first chapter is the introduction part, in which we introduce some classicial definitions about "culture" in the cultural anthropology, analysize the research situation of Ewenks’ culture, list the research methods of this paper. Based on them we put forward the importance of fully describing the Ewenks’ culture and illustrate the academic value and theoretical significance of the cultural research. In the second chapter we introduce related theories of the national process, systematically analysize the origin and national process of Ewenks. In the third chapter we analysize and discuss about the names of Ewenks’ ancient social organizations and clans, marriage and family system, from which we clarify the characteristics of Evenks’ institutional cultrue. In the fourth chapter we analysize and discuss about hunting culture, reindeer culture, costume, food, residence of Ewenks, from which we summarize the cultural characteristics of Ewenks’ meterial culture. In the fifth chapter we analysize and discuss on the linguistic features of Ewenk lauguage, the lauguage protection situation, folk literature and shamanism, from which we summarize the cultural characteristics of Ewenks’ spiritual culture. In the sixth chapter we introduce the efforts of official government and the folk to Ewenks’culture protection, analysize the difficulties and problems they encountered in the process of protection. Finally we summarize the characteristics of Ewenks’culture and put forward the importance and urgency of national culture protection.The small nations, which are located in the far east and Siberia of Russia have created a colorful picture of national culture. Among them the Ewenks’culture is a shiny pearl. As a multi-ethnic country Russia has made lots of efforts to their national culture protection, which provide a beneficial study model of culture protection for other countries. |
