As weallknown,thevocabulary is the most important elements in learning languages.Therefore,to master a language, thevocabulary is essential.Meanwhile, vocabulary could bring up the culture,as is a special cultural significance in many vocabularies. Meanwhile, vocabulary is also the vehicle and container of cultural information. A large portion of vocabulary is cultural words which have particular meanings. There exist a large number of cultural words in Chinese, which manifest the rich and unique cultural style of China. These words have become an indispensable part of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, with increasing attention being paid by educators and researchers.’Cultural words, as a part of vocabulary, are often the most likely to reflect cultural differences, the most difficult for a learner to master, and the most probably for him to misunderstand and fail to communicate well.’Therefore, learning and mastering the cultural words in Chinese is of great significance for learners, especially who are in a native language environment to improve their language proficiency and communicative competence.Nowadays, Chinese learners in Vietnam have been on the increase year by year. Chinese has become the second largest foreign language in Vietnam. Though Confucius Institutes have been established in Vietnam before long, the promotion speed of Chinese in Vietnamese universities is rather surprising. According to incomplete statistics, over sixty universities in Vietnam have either established the department of Chinese or set the Chinese as an optional course. China and Vietnam have profound historical and cultural origins, therefore, both countries share many similarities in cultural aspect. But at the same time, we must realize that there are still many differences between the two cultures. Embodied in cultural words, that is to say, the two languages have many cultural words which contain either the same meaning or different meanings. For Chinese learners in Vietnam, gasping correctly the meaning of Chinese cultural words is essential to improve their language proficiency and communicative competence.To sum up, the author take the most extensively used Chinese textbook Chinese tutorial (Book 1-3) as the object of study, using survey method, interview method, interdisciplinary research method, comparative analysis method and so on to conduct detailed statistics and classification of cultural words in the textbook. On its basis, the author carries out the comparative analysis of meanings of the Chinese and Vietnamese cultural words, in order to reflect on the teaching situation of Chinese cultural words in Vietnam, and put forward related suggestions for teaching accordingly.The main content of this paper includes the following four parts. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the origin of the research, the significance of the research, the content and methods of the research. The second part is the summary of the research, and the literature related to this study are reviewed in detail. The third part is the main part of this thesis, in the "Chinese course" this set of teaching materials based on the, detailed statistics cultural words in the textbooks, and classified, respectively from thel, Vietnamese-Chinese cultural words having the same or similar concept and connotative meaning; 2, Vietnamese-Chinese cultural words with the same concept meaning but different connotative meaning; 3, Vietnamese-Chinese words with same concept meaning, Chinese has the connotation meaning while Vietnamese doesn’t. three aspects of word meaning contrast analysis. The fourth part is the conclusion of the paper. In contrast to the above analysis foundation, from the aspect of teacher training, teaching means and cultural activities of Vietnamese Chinese culture loaded words and expressions teaching put forward related suggestions, after a summary of the full text, the preliminary planning for the next step of research work.
