Gombrich is a famous contemporary great master in the study area of art and art History psychology. His aesthetic study of visual art cognitive theory is unique, the theory has the very high creative and research value. Gombrich began his study from cognitive theory of visual art. His theory around the artists, art and viewers tightly. He thought that people`s perception of visual art cannot leave the creation of the artist and the viewer`s appreciation, namely, the artist is the producer of the image, the viewer is the receiver of the image, so artists, art and viewers together form the people`s perception of the visual arts. His theory of the cognitive theory of aesthetics had a profound impact to art and culture.This article can be divided into three parts, mainly discuss from the following three part, namely, the Gombrich’s thought source of the visual art cognition theory, main composition and the influences on the aesthetics. The first part describes the cognitive theory of visual art briefly and ideological sources for the interpretation of Gombrich cognitive theory. The second part is the main part of the article. Gombrich’s cognitive theory of visual arts was mainly constructed by the image, cognitive bias and visual acceptance. The artists produced image according to the rhythm of schema and correction, but there were some cognitive biases for people`s perception to the visual arts to a certain extent. So the viewer’s acceptance of the image needed the participation of psychological expectation and projection. They completed the cognitive theory of visual art together by the artists and viewers, as well as the works of art under the guidance by the social context. The third part mainly discuss about the connection between the Gombrich theory and aesthetic theory from the aspect of aesthetic receptive theory and aesthetic experience, as well as the related theory of art, and talk about the influences of Gombrich’s theory on aesthetic theory. |
