Research On The Guide System Of Art Museum

The functionalities of modern art museum include not only collection, research, exhibition, education and communication, but also leisure and entertainment. As a result, it plays an important role for the inheritance of the arts, the expression of the arts and art Education. The structure of art museum mainly consists of exhibition building, interior decoration, signage system, art exhibits, service facilities and so on. Among these elements, the signage system, which is practical and aesthetic, is an indispensable bridge between the museum and the people. This thesis examines the impact and needs of visual and non-visual elements on the design of the signage system of art museum. Furtherly, with collection of the classic signage system of the museums and the design practices(Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts), the discussion on how to preferably present the nature and connotation of the art museum with the aid of the signage system are expanded.
