A Study On The Creation Of Piano Sonata In The Early Period Of New China (1949-1966)

The preliminary period(1949-1966) since the new founded China has proved to be an important stage for the development of piano music.The very establishment of this new Republic brought vigor and life to the art of piano, especially in contrast to the music before the country was founded.Guided by the principle of “hundred flowers and hundred school thoughts campaign”, Chinese composers have created an astounding amount of rewarding pieces of music and achieved extraordinary accomplishments.These accomplishments and efforts contributed to the preliminary prosperity with respect to the development of art of piano.Sonata is one of the most crucial genres within the realm of art of music.It was greatly emphasized and was placed at a unique position beyond other genres by many composers when composing musical pieces.As part of the research focusing on the gap years of the development of piano sonata in China,the preliminary period of the new founded China(1949-1966) which had contributed a great share of masterpieces,was worth noticing as well.This article researched on the application and nationalism of the musical elements when composing piano sonata in the preliminary phase of the new founded China through a series of analytical methods including interviews,documents, and musical pieces. The author sincerely hoped that in addition to help contribute to the development of art of piano based on this research, readers would be able to evaluate the creation,development,characteristics and cultural spirit systematically and form an objective point of view regarding the accomplishment in piano sonata in this unique period..
