The "close reading" in "New Criticism" attracted much attention many Chinese scholars when it was brought into China. It exerted great influence on Chinese literary criticism and provided a lot of enlightenment and reference for Chinese literature teaching. Because the "close reading" "emphases on literary rationality research object” and it meet Chinese demand for exploration and pursuit of "the nature of literature" theory. From the perspective of "close reading",on the one hand, the thesis focuses on "close reading" exerting the effect on China’s literary criticism and its variation in China, and then explores why the "close reading" appears variation in China, What’s more, the thesis takes Zhu Ziqing’s and Qian Zhongshu’s literary criticism practice as an example to demonstrate the integration of close reading and examples; takes Ye Jiaying’s literary criticism practice as an example to demonstrate the integration of close reading and comprehension; takes Wang Furen’s literary criticism practice as an example to demonstrate the integration of close reading and social history criticism method. On the other hand, the thesis intends to investigate "close reading" exerting effect on literature teaching in Chinese universities and middle school and its variation in China. Besides, the thesis takes Wang Xianpei’s and Wang Yaohui’s literature teaching as an example to demonstrate the integration of close reading and the teaching of literary theory; takes Chen Sihe’s literature teaching as an example to demonstrate the integration of close reading and literary history teaching; takes Pan Xinhe’s literature teaching as an example to demonstrate the integration of close reading and writing training; takes Sun Shaozhen’s literature teaching as an example to demonstrate the integration of close reading and comparative or reduction methods; takes Wang Songzhou’s literature teaching as an example to demonstrate the integration of close reading and intertextual reading.
