Since the 20 th century 90 s, the use of the Internet are widely spreading in China, accordingly the alternate history novels, which takes advantage of network new media, also the develops a lot, and has become one of the most popular network literature themes among the young readers. From the broad sense of view, alternate history novel means making a change in a real historical period or an era of pure overhead,by introducing history variables into the text. Although there is a great number of works, the research of alternate history novel are very scarce. Secondly, the creation overview of Chinese alternate history novel, exploring the reasons of their rise, tracing down the origin, and classifying them in terms of time-space and plot mode. Thirdly, analyzing the ideology of alternate history novel,including philosophical, political and religious consciousness. Fourthly, parsing the narrative aesthetics of alternate history novel, summarizing thenarrative features and aesthetic principles, anddiscussing the network media and the public acceptation of alternate history novel under the mass consumption society.In fact, we can’t deny alternate history novel has become one of the most important type of network historical novels. We need to guide those shoddy works, adhering to the historical materialism in the creation, we also need to encourage those articles oftranscendence and enlightenment, guidingalternate history novel into a higher literature realm.
