Stage fright is a problem all stage performers and musicians will face. It often seriously affects the effect of their performance, even lead to failure, and the experience of failure further increases the psychological pressure and fear of the stage, resulting in a vicious cycle. Some people even end their stage career because of this. So for the majority of music students, musical performers and other groups, this issue is particularly important. As a new subject, "music therapy" is widely used, and is very suitable for relieving all kinds of pressure and anxiety. As a graduate of Music College with medical background, I’m quite concerned with the approach of music therapy, and it’s of great significance to probe into the effect of music therapy in terms of relieving stage stress.Based on previous research, this paper conducts an in-depth study on using music therapy to relieve the stage stress of students in Music College of Qingdao University.The research steps are: 1. to select proper volunteers as research objects from questionnaires targeting the problem of stage stress among students of Music College of Qingdao University; 2. to solve the problem of stage stress among the volunteer subjects with a variety of music techniques; 3. to record the process of the therapy for analysis; 4.to find out the problems that arise during the use of music therapies as well as prove their effects; 5. to finally arrive at the conclusions. The paper is divided into three chapters.The First Chapter: Music Therapy and Anxiety, introduces the definition of music therapy,the development history and domestic and foreign research status. It also presents and discusses the definition of anxiety and stage stress, their causes and the effect of stage stress on music performers. The Second Chapter: Intervention of Music Therapy in Stage Stress, first introduces commonly used methods and techniques of music therapy, and then chooses the appropriate techniques to relieve stage stress for discussion. The Third Chapter: Experiment Design and Case Analysis, analyzes and summarizes post-treatment cases in detail from the aspects of questionnaire design, research objects selection, and the therapy process.
