Can Xue is good at describing the spiritual and bodily pain in the novel, this kind of description highlights the aesthetics of tragedy in the novel, and contains a profound awareness of the tragedy of life. This tragic conciousness reflected in the deep inquiry and criticism of the human soul, also reviews the whole universe and life, while revealing the plight of human existence, show the deep humanistic concerns of Can Xue.This paper discusses the life tragedy conciousness in Can Xue’s novels from three aspects. The first part is mainly analysis of the life tragedy conciousness in the novel from Can Xue’s life exeprience. Twists and turns of life exeperience and the combination of Chinese and Western culture created a unique style in looking at the life of Can Xue, and enabled her to form a deep sense of life tragedy conciousness. The second part focuses on analysing the specific performance of the life tragedy conciousness in novels. The characters in Can Xue’s novels often have a grotesque image, abnormal behavior,a fuzzy identity, vague language. They are full of contradictions in their emotions and the soul, with allegorical traits, showing the soul’s loneliness, anxiety and restlessness of the character. The third part excavates the thinking of Can Xue about several philosophical questions in the novels.Such as, life and death, the existence of self and so on. The tragic characters in Can Xue’s novels are always self reflecting, self surmounting, self understanding and knowing the nature in the picutrue of life and death, and getting the soul salvation finally.
