A Comparative Study Of The Meaning Of Han Tai 's

"The taste word" is a special kind of vocabulary in Chinese and Thai. Taste words are not only expressed in the human sense of taste perception, but also expressed the similarities and differences of Chinese and Thai people in the ways of thinking and culture. Especially, in the case of metaphorical meanings of taste words in Chinese and Thai language are not the same. The content of this paper can be divided into 5 parts:The introduction part summarizes the domestic and international of research which related to Chinese and Thai taste words and describes the main problem, research methods and data sources of this study.The first chapter focuses on the definition and classification of Chinese and Thai taste words, the main contents include the definition of taste words, the basic gustatory adjectives classification such as sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, salty, astringent and the interpretations of all taste words in Chinese and Thai.The second chapter is the comparison and analysis of Chinese and Thai taste words meanings. The main contents include the semantic features of basic taste words, the taste words meanings comparison and analysis, and the analysis of the main factors influencing its semantic similarities and differences.The third chapter describes about the survey and questionnaire design and summarizes survey results statistic, especially the results of the degree of understanding meanings and usages of Chinese taste words of Thai learners. And also sums up the biases that the learners have about learning and teaching Chinese taste words.The fourth chapter analyses the types of the errors in the sentences of taste words that Thai learners made, and discusses the main reasons that causes each types of errors.The last one is conclusion, this part reviews the results of each part of this study summarized, and put forward the problems which need further study in the future.The research about Chinese and Thai taste words are rarely seen; I use this as a starting point to study the comparison of Chinese and Thai taste words and use the Thai learners using Chinese taste words errors analysis as an innovation point. I hope that this study paper will be able to add a further in taste words research status, and also be helpful to the other study of language and culture between China and Thailand aspect.
