An Analysis Of The Causes Of College Students' Illegal Crimes And The Countermeasures

The solution to lawbreaking and crime committing of college students,an important issue in both theory and practice, is linked to socialstability and peace of the nation. With the popularity of the highereducation the number of colleges and universities and students is on theincrease and higher education management is facing new challenges. Whilemost students are doing well and becoming pillars of society, the issueof breaking the law and committing crimes is obvious. Therefore it hasbecome an important issue to prevent and keep down lawbreaking and crimecommitting of college students on the part of society, universities,andfamilies as a whole. This article,by applying the theories of law,criminology, psychology, and education, combined with the reality ofhigher education management,and investigation, study, generalphenomena, nature and features of lawbreaking and crime committing ofcollege students in several universities, gives a systematic analysis ofobjective factors leading to lawbreaking and crime committing of collegestudents, revealing its characteristics, and pointing out specific policyand measures of persuasion, education,and prevention in handlinglawbreaking and crime committing of college students in Guizhou’suniversities,thus contributing to the reduction of students’lawbreaking and crime committing, improvement of students’ personality,promotion of the quality of students’ moral, ideological, and politicaleducation, enrichment of theories of law and education concerninguniversities.The author thinks that the crimes characterize clearly the collegestudents in GuizhouProvince, larceny the foremost,low aging, increasingof new kinds of crimes, instantly increasing of female commitment,highlighting violence. The reasons are complex, both in individual andschool, mentality and physicality,society and family as well. Therefore,a solution to these criminal problems must be combined with the socialreforms, with higher education management. On the basis of legal rule,applying moral education with legal rule organically, especially renewingour ideas,improving our cognition, persisting in the idea of educatingstudents, forming the whole system of preventing students from committingcrimes, enforcing the social prevention, school prevention, familyprevention,and judicial prevention. Only in this way, can we solve thecollegiate criminal problems completely, educate more specialists,promote a good environment of social management and school management,maintain the social security, form harmonious society, keep the societycontinue developing.
