Foreign aid is an important activity in international relations. In recent years, thenon-governmental organizations become more and more important, in some countrieseven more than the former one. China was not stopped its foreign aid to othercountries, especially to African countries since its founding.The NGO’s in China play an important role in assistance to African countries inthe new century. In this essay, the writer will take China Foundation for PovertyAlleviation as the research object. Firstly, the paper describes an overview of thepurpose and significance of the topic, as well as the research output in history,including the domestic and international researches on non-governmentalorganizations’ foreign aid. The first chapter introduces the China Foundation forPoverty Alleviation aid to African countries briefly, including three parts: introductionto China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, the background of the foreign aid andthe aid projects of China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation to African countries. Thesecond chapter summarizes the preference for assistance and opportunities of theforeign aid activities. Because of the context of history and the practical needs of theChina-Africa friendship and under the support of both government policies as well,China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation did a large number of African countries aidas a typical representative of the Chinese NGO. The third chapter is the evaluation onthe foreign aid objects. All those foreign aid objects can be divided into categories:device, funding and training. And next part, take an analysis of its project objectives,implementation as well as implementation of the results, thus summed up the ChinaFoundation for Poverty Alleviation and non-assistance features and essence as well. Inthe last part, the writer will summarize the Chinese NGO inadequate in foreign aidactivities and the methods to improve. The fourth chapter includes the NGO status inChina’s foreign aid and the outlook in the future.
