And if he is over90years old or under10, he will not be executed even he was sentenced death. Thus, it can be seen that our countryhave the thoughts and legislation for protecting children specially since ancient society. For thesociety today, how to treat children is not just a private matter, but rather one reflection of acountry’s level of protection of human rights and the public consciousness.In the international community, the transition to the knowledge and attitudes for children’rights is the result of a bit of progress, in which the most significant progress is the UnitedNations Convention on the Rights of the Child passed in1989. Our country joined this importantconvention in1990. With the attention for human rights issues increasing all the time, more andmore attentions for children protection issues are also put into concern by the society as childrenrights protection is an important branch of the human rights. The relevant social norms andrequirements and even relevant laws and regulations for child protection are also need to be puton the agenda urgently.In recent years, China has put more emphasis on the research study forchild protection issues on the basis of United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, andthe research achievement during these years is worthy of recognition.
