Since the1990s, China has been experiencing large-scale cross-region population flows, With the acceleration of China’s industrialization and urbanization, the huge demand for labor encourages the majority of the farmers from central and western regions to move to the rapidly developing eastern coastal areas, leading the great migration, which is rare in human history. Besides its positive effects, it also has brought a series of socio-economic problems. Being the largest mobile groups, their living conditions relates to the speed of China’s future economic development, and is also about social harmony and stability as a whole.Based on the theory of social class, social mobility, social conflicts and sub-cultural, this article analyzes the social factors of the crime committed by the children of the farmer workers.In addition to the theoretical explanations, this article conducts a case study of the living conditions of the migrant farm workers and their children in Jiashan County and discusses the high crime rate in this group. Through questionnaires, interviews, and data analysis methods, this article tries to figure out the specialty of this group, in order to solve this problem accordingly.With the case studies, this article proposes that the social security system and the education system for migrant worker should be established. More public goods and service provided by the local government are needed, in order to reduce the high crime rate of the monitors in the migrant farm workers, and work together to build a harmonious society where we can share of fruitful results, and benefit from the development. |
