Civil service has become the social hot issues in recent years, college students asthe mainstay of civil service exam, college students to enter oneself for anexamination the civil service hot phenomenon is caused wide attention. Civil serviceexam has become China’s most competitive after the college entrance examinationand one’s deceased father grind the test, known as “China’s first exam”. Why sofanatical college students attend officeholder exam? This phenomenon caused socialimpact? In this paper, from the perspective of sociology, for college students to enteroneself for an examination the civil service hot phenomenon, has carried on theempirical research based on five universities in Yunnan province.From Yunnan province, this study the phenomenon of college students to enteroneself for an examination civil service performance and characteristics of twoaspects about the overall condition of the phenomenon, confirmed the phenomenon ofcollege students to enter oneself for an examination the civil service hot does exist,and find that many of the characteristics of the phenomenon. Using the theory ofrational choice theory and perceptual selection, through the social factor, family factor,four perspective students factors, individual factors, fully explain the phenomenon ofcollege students to enter oneself for an examination the civil service hot behind thecomplicated factors. The study found that college students choosing to enter oneselffor an examination of civil servants is a rational choice is given priority to, theperceptual choice is complementary. If students in the choice of employment have aclear direction of career-oriented, then the impact will be very little emotional choice.If college students do not have a clear career-oriented employment in the choice ofdirection, then the impact will be on its perceptual choice is very large. Positive andnegative effects from both college students apply for civil summarizes the thermalphenomena social impact. Aimed at how to rationally guide the university students’employment this problem, this article from the perspective of college studentsthemselves, family support, school education, the government and the social support four angles are expounded.
