With the continuous development and progress of human society, informationtechnology change rapidly, the development of public diplomacy has attracted theattention of various countries. And the national image as an important part of nationalsoft power and direct reflection is extremely important intangible assets of the state.America pays special attention to public diplomacy, public diplomacy has become animportant part of the indispensable American strategy, and its development alsoexperienced a long and tortuous process.This paper is divided into four main sections, and analyzes America using publicdiplomacy to shape its national image. The first chapter mainly introduces thebackground and significance, research status at home and abroad, research methodsand ideas and the innovation and difficulties. The second chapter firstly analyzes theconcept, basic features and functions of public diplomacy and national image, andthen analyzes the complementary relationship between the two. Finally analyzes theunique characteristics of American public diplomacy and national image. The thirdchapter focuses on the America in "911" incident of conducting public diplomacyshaping the national image of the historical development process, the practice andeffect, and the reasons for in-depth analysis. The fourth chapter on the Americanpublic diplomacy to shape the image of the state is this article foothold. This chapterfirst analyzes the advantages of America public diplomacy, and then analyzes thedifficulties and problems in the development of public diplomacy and national imageshaping process. Our country can learn from the experiences and lessons of Americato conduct public diplomacy, national image shaping aspects of the work of ourcountry.
