On The Cultivation Of Citizen 's Constitutional Consciousness

Citizens’ consciousness of constitutional law is the basis of idea for building a socialist rule of law country, it is an important spiritual force for protecting human rights throughout the country. Legal practice makes us realize that we must strengthen citizens’ awareness of constitutional law firstly if we want to establish the absolute authority of the Constitution. But for now, Chinese citizen’s consciousness is weak. If a country is absent of constitutional awareness, its laws can’t get a good execution and compliance. Civic education of awareness of constitutional law enables the citizens to understand the spirit of the Constitution and improve their emotion to constitutional law. It is all rooted in the social consciousness of citizens, and the role of constitutional practice. Only to strengthen the education of knowledge of constitutional law constantly, we can let the society respect the Constitution and uphold the constitution. Therefore, the cultivation of civic consciousness of the Constitution has important significance for raising citizen’s awareness of the law and promoting the full implementation of the Constitution.This paper studies the basic constitutional citizenship’ legal issues. The first section explains constitutional consciousness from two angles--the philosophy and psychology. It is intended to understand the basic issues of civic consciousness constitution. The second part analyzes the current situation and its causes of constitutional consciousness of citizens. In the third part, I focus on legal education of citizens, and try to lay several angles to raise the civic awareness of the Constitution. The fourth part focuses on finding other ways to improve the situation of the citizens’ weakness of awareness of the Constitution. I hope the study can provide an effective way to improve the civic awareness of our Constitution.
