In this thesis, ultrasonic diagnostic system, NIOS II soft processor and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) have been studied. It points out great impelling action for ultrasonic diagnostic system done by embedded system based on ultrasonic diagnostic equipment's developing background. Then it analyzes the defects of current ultrasonic diagnostic. By aiming at the defects, the new ultrasonic diagnostic system adopting a NIOS II embedded processor is presented.In theory of this thesis, frame correlation, DSC (Digital Scan Converter), display and data acquisition are analyzed. Then it analyses configurable performance of NIOS II soft kernel processor and principle and virtues of Avalon Bus, and points out the designing process of FPGA.Digitization, networking, memory capacity, processing speed and power wasting are considered in hardware design of this thesis, so this whole system studies and designs CPU, memory, ethernet, display, input/output interface, etc. In order to improve performance of system and achieve low power, some competitive new devices are imported.In logic design of this thesis, IP cores of NET, USB, CF card and FLASH are designed by researching current many IP cores deeply, which saves the whole FPGA resource. With the advantage of FPGA programmable flexibility, it realizes a new-style data acquisition system by logic design of interface.The test program of Mobile SDRAM, DDR2 SDRAM, SSRAM, peripheral equipment and user logic are coded in debugging. Every part of this system is debugged by using QuartusII and NIOS IDE. Logic design is corrected and optimized based on this debug result, so system performance is greatly improved.Finally, the ultrasonic diagnostic system is tested and validated.
