| Video surveillance system is attracting increasing attention as an effective means of security. Video surveillance system experiences the transition from the analog generation to the digital generation which is based on the digital image processing and embedded technology.The paper aims at achieving a SIP-based intelligent video surveillance system. The system is divided into two parts: video capture part and remote monitor part (SIP User Agent). The main responsibilities of video capture part are video data capture, smart image analysis, digital image compression and RTP packing. Then, the RTP package will be transimitted to the remote monitor part after completing the connection by SIP. The monitor part (SIP User Agent) unpacks the RTP package and decompresses the MPEG-4 frame and finally displays the video.In the process of research and system design, the paper completed the major work in the following areas:1. Study the SIP, RTP and MPEG-4 and then determine the overall design for video surveillance system.2. Complete the design and implementation of the remote video surveillance monitor-SIP User Agent.3. Complete the design and implementation of the smart monitor sub-module for the embedded video-acquisition module. 4. Complete the testing of SIP User Agent and the smart monitor sub-module. The testing results show that the various functional modules work well. |
