Subjective quality assessment is one of the most important and reliable methods for digital video quality evaluation. With the rapid development of Internet, web-based multimedia applications become more and more popular. Efficient video quality evaluation for these applications would be highly required.In accordance with ITU relevant standards and recommendations, a set of automation system for subjective assessment of video quality in multimedia applications has been developed, which is flexible and meets self-control requirements for tester. It also realizes the automation of evaluation results statistics, enabling faster and more efficient testing.However, subjective assessment has been limited by environmental conditions, poor stability, high complexity and real-time performance. In response to these shortcomings, the objective digital video quality assessment methods gradually become a research hotspot.Image definition is an important factor in objective video quality assessment. Based on image definition, three kinds of full-reference objective assessment methods for digital video quality are proposed in this paper. The performance and arithmetical complexity are compared with traditional objective assessment methods'. Simulation results show that these methods can improve the accuracy of quality evaluation.
