With the development of information technology, digital signals processor (DSP) has been used widely in our society life. The enlarging applications not only make the DSP's performance fast promote, but also need more progresses of peripheral interface technology.YHFT-DSP is a 32-bit fixed-point high performance DSP developed by our university. It puts forward a new bus interface: host-port expansion bus(E-Bus). In order to effectively surport diversified synchronous or asynchronous commerce standards of host-port interface protocols, E-Bus extends both the function and data-transfer bandwidth of tranditional host-port interface. To design, test and apply the new interface better, this thesis designs and implements a hardware/software co-simulation platform based on E-Bus, which implements a high speed communication between host-port and YHFT-DSP, and the master/slave conversion function of E-Bus. The primary contributions are follows:Through a deep research of E-Bus protocal, combining with the request of the whole YHFT-DSP chip's simulation and application, the structure of E-Bus simulation platform has been designed reasonaly, and the target of this hardware/software co-simulation platform has been given out.By generally analysing the function of simulation platform, a hardware controller on FPGA has been designed, which provides a high effective mechanism for the comunication between host-port and YHFT-DSP. The design of a simulation special registers space makes the platform be more controllable. The using of a flexible scheduling strategy effectively manages the complex data and control streams. It adopts asynchronous host-port interface mode for the comunication protocal with host-port and enhances the compatibility and expansibility of the platform. The effective bus arbitration machanism reallizes the master/slave conversion function of E-Bus. Meanwhile the simulation function has been implemented by using of FPGA's hardware resources.To implement the intercommunication between people and machine, a host-port software has been designed, which has used USB2.0 to carry out a high speed data transfer interface with host-port. The design of firmware, driver and simulation applying software, offers a software control platform with full function and strong maneuverability and realizes the hardware /software co-simulation.Finally the system verification and debugging have been made. The results show that the platform runs stably and correctly. YHFT-DSP E-Bus basic functions have been simulated and tested.
