Studies On The Competitive Capability In Agriculture Of Taian City

Based on massive reference literatures and extensive investigation and scientific analysis methods,the competitive capability in agriculture of Taian city was studied, the main results are as follows:1.Analysis and research on the present situation of agricultural competitive capability in Taian city from the view point of agricultural resourceEight factors associated closely with competitive capability in agriculture such as natural resource, rural labor productivity, rural labor innate quality, agricultural fundamental facilities, agrotechnical level, organized cooperative degree, increase value in agriculture and the policy of rural tax and charge were selected to carry out comparison. It was found that there are advantages in effective irrigation rate of arable land, distribution intensity of road, agrotechnical level and the policy of rural tax and charge in Taian city, while there are disadvantages in natural resource. Such criteria as rural labor innate quality, total agricultural machinery power, organized cooperative degree and increase value in agriculture are improving.In general, the agricultural competitive capability of Taian city are strengthing.2.Analysis and research on the competitive capability of major agricultural productsAmong various agricultural products, wheat, corn and pig production were selected as examples to make comparison and analysis. The analysis results indicated that wheat, corn and other intensive labor input agricultural products in Taian city lack competitive capability in price. The main reasons are high production costs resulting from labor input, chemical fertilizer, agricultural chemicals, circulation and other expenditure. As quality is concerned, there are great gap in wheat quality between Taian city and imported wheat, the dough stability is shorter, the gluten content is lower and the quality is uncertain with the former. There are no significant difference in corn quality between Taian city and imported corn. But the quality stability and certainty of the former are not as good as the latter in spite of its non-transgenic advantage.so it is necessary to reduce production costs and improve quality of food crops in order to strengthen the competitive capability of food crops in Taian city.In contrast to food crops, there are remarkable advantage in pork price of Taian city over the imported. However, pig products lose its competitivecapability as affected by epidemic treatments, chemical residues, technical level of pig feeding, sanitary and innate quality must be solved in order to improve competitive capability in pig production of Taian city.
