The Economy Analysis Of Urban Spatial Structure Formation, Evolvement And Optimization

Urban spatial structure is the reflection of urban function system on district and space. It is also a comprehensive reflection of urban politics, economy, society, culture, natural conditions, engineering technologies and architectural arrangement in space. As indicated by the history of urban development, urban economic operation showed in space is a continual process of urban economic elements' assembling, spreading and adjusting towards different directions of space. Urban space arrangement is the result of urban economic activities and the basis of further development and also might be the causes of urban problems. It is concluded that, urban economic operation and urban spatial structure development are two dimensions of one question and these two dimensions are multi-influential.The economics analysis of the urban spatial structure could benefit for better understanding the changes of social economy changes, stimulating the construction of harmonized society, outperforming the urban functions, and urging the sustainable development of urban economy.On the basis of predecessors' studies, the aim of this thesis is to open out the coherent relationship between economic activities and arrangement in urban space, to set up a standard of judgment about the condition of arrangement in urban space, and to make practicable policy suggestion.The whole thesis consists of six sections. The introduction mainly sets forth the causes of topic section. On the basis of summarizing and analyzing predecessors' research achievements, the introduction presents the main train of thought about analyzing and resolving problems. It also summarizes the research method and main viewpoint of this thesis. The second part lays a theoretic basis for examining urban economy activities in space. The mechanism of arranging economic activities in urban space is explained by using economic principles. The third part briefly analyzes different factors that influence the urban spatial structure evolvement, on the basis of the relationships among conglomeration, land rent and the formation of urban spatial structure. The fourth part, through individually discussing urban industry economy operation, commerce economy operation and the ties of residential property and urban spatial structure evolvement, describes the great effects of urban economy operation on urban spatial structure. Urban space arrangement is a comprehensive problem involving economic philosophy, institutions, and government functions, etc. Therefore, after analyzing the economic significance of optimization of urban space arrangement, the fifth part studies the objective and means of the optimization of urban space arrangement. After standardized study, the sixth part makes a positive into the formation, evolution and optimization of urban space arrangement in Chengdu. The sixth part bases on the economic analysis of urban spatial structure, and blends with the analysis of the relationships between Chengdu spatial structure development and urban economic operation, the status quo and existing question of the urban spatial structure of Chengdu will be discussed and consequently, the policy aimed on the optimization of Chengdu urban spatial structure will be proposed, and establish the vision of prospective urban structure development of Chengdu.
