As an intermediate link between production, circulation and consumption, urban logistics serves the flow of production elements and products required in urban areas and between cities. It plays an important role in upgrading the level of professional operation, realizing the effective allocation of urban resources and promoting industrial restructuring and industrial upgrading.Recently years,Along with the reconstruction of urban economic spatial structure and the advancement of urbanization process,China has gradually become the center of world logistics development.Chinese urban logistics has achieved rapid development while presenting significant location and spatial characteristics, the imbalance and uncoordinated characteristic of regional logistics development are gradually highlighted. At the same time, industrial policies was insufficient to guide the healthy and orderly development of urban logistics. The positioning of urban logistics functions is not clear, the problems of low-level redundant construction of logistics infrastructure, and low operational efficiency of logistics still exist in different cities.Taking city as the research dimension, this paper comprehensively and deeply studies the different characteristics and evolution characteristics of the spatial structure of urban logistics development in China from two aspects: urban individual and urban logistics network(integral),and explores the law of spatial structure evolution of urban logistics development. This paper has important theoretical and practical significance for rationally allocating of logistics resources, coordinating urban logistics development, and constructing a urban logistics service system with clear division of labor, reasonable infrastructure layout and complementary advantages.Based on this, the paper carried out the following research work.(1)Research on the evolution of spatial structure of Chinese urban logistics development based on urban individuals.Based on the data collection of 285 cities' logistics development indicators from 2005 to 2016,this paper uses the improved entropy method to comprehensively measure the development level of urban logistics, then, the clustering analysis and natural fracture point classification method are used to classify the urban logistics development level of sample cities.Research on characteristics of urban logistics spatial structure evolution in China has five aspects: overall differentiation characteristics, different research perspective, different evolution stages, different evolution models and spatial correlation characteristics. The study finds that Chinese urban logistics have rapidly developed for several years, the spatial structure strend is “Northeast-Southwest” and the structure is relatively stable. There is a significant positive autocorrelation relationship in urban logistics development between cities. But the problem of regional development imbalance is still outstanding, and the spatial structure evolution presents regional heterogeneity characteristic. The urban logistics development in the eastern coastal areas presents the characteristics of multi-point,multi-cores and cluster development. The central and western regions present single-point and single-core spatial structure features.(2)Research on the evolution of Chinese urban logistics spatial structure based on urban logistics network.Based on the construction of Chinese urban logistics network with improved Gravity Model, the QAP method is used to study the influencing factors of Chinese urban logistics network.Research results show that the spatial proximity of cities and the similarity of capital stock significantly influence the intensity of logistics links between cities.Based on the indicators such as connection intensity and network centrality, this paper analyzes the spatial evolution characteristics of Chinese urban logistics network and urban agglomeration logistics network. The study finds that the density of overall and urban agglomeration logistics networks are generally on the rise, and the logistics links between cities are getting closer during the research period. The core cities of the urban agglomeration is located at the center of the urban logistics network of the urban agglomeration.(3)Research on the evolution trend of spatial structure of Chinese urban logistics development:Using the grey system GM(1,1)model to predict the main parameters of the standard deviation ellipse of Chinese urban logistics development in 2017-2030.The results show that the center of Chinese urban logistics development continue to move to southwest of China during the forecast period. However, the overall spatial structure of the “Northeast-Southwest” has not changed significantly, and the overall spatial structure of urban logistics development is relatively stable. In order to test the trend of urban logistics development imbalance with time, spatial econometrics method is used to analyze the absolute convergence and conditional convergence of urban logistics development. The study find that there are absolute convergence and conditional convergence trends in the urban logistics development of the national and the three major regions, all of which can reach their respective steady-state levels.(4)Research on the evolution mechanism of spatial structure of Chinese urban logistics development: The evolution of urban logistics spatial structure is the result of the interaction of various influencing factors. This paper constructs a theoretical analysis framework for the evolution mechanism of urban logistics spatial structure from five aspects: natural and location conditions, human and social factors, reconstruction of economic spatial structure, regional development strategy, industrial policy and dynamic mechanism. This paper focuses on the impact of economic spatial structure reconstruction, government policy shocks, spatial interactions, agglomeration and diffusion effects on the evolution of Chinese urban logistics development spatial structure.Difference-in-Difference method is used to test the policy impact of “National Logistics Park Development Plan” on the development of urban logistics in the primary and secondary logistics parks included in the plan and find that this policy did not significantly promote the development of the logistics industry in the logistics park layout cities, and did not achieve the purpose of policy. The results of the mechanism test show that the policy fails to promote the development of the urban economy, and even has a crushing effect on information level that drives the development of urban logistics, which result in the failure of this policy to achieve the desired results.Besides, based on the C-D Production Function, this paper constructs a spatial econometrics model to test the spatial interaction effect of Chinese urban logistics development. The research results show that under the influence of spatial interaction effect,Chinese urban logistics development presents a significant spatial spillover effect. The national logistics center cities and regional logistics center cities in the eastern and central regions have significant positive spillover effects on the logistics development of ordinary cities in these region. However, the spillover effect of logistics center cities in the western region on the development of ordinary urban logistics is not significant, and some urban logistics development is still in the stage of polarization development.
