China and India are the largest developing country in the world, both have a great important affection on the development of Asia and the world. With the theme of "peace and development", many countries are seeking opportunities through the cooperation with others in the background of economy globalization. China and India are adjacent to each other and have a lot of similarities in many respects since modern times. The two countries are also facing similar challenging and difficulties nowadays. There is a extremely realistic meaning for both to seek cooperation actively in comparison and to strive for win-win. Since the 20th century 40's ,both China and India had made great economic achievement , but the development of agriculture were actually slowing down compared to the entire economic growing. The lagging of agriculture has influenced the modernization of two countries seriously. How Chinese and Indian agriculture go out of the bottleneck, and how to keep continuously national economic growth have became great tasks for the two countries, so the meaning of contrast two countries' modern agricultural development is very heavy. Up until now, there are lots of domestic and international studies on Chinese and Indian agriculture research, but few on contrast of their agricultural developing modes. No books or monographs were found. So I selected this as the theme of this paper, compared the Chinese and Indian agricultural modes, trying to find out something useful to realistic practice of agriculture development. This paper consist of a survey on the background of the two countries'modern agriculture, the course of the forming of two countries'modern agricultural modes, the factors which weighed during the course, and a contrast between these two modes with conclusion. In the end ,there is a look into the distance of the two countries agricultural development.
