| Northeast Asia has become the core region of international container shipping along with the switch of international shipping center from the Atlantic to the Pacific. During the development of container hub ports in this area, many ports are exerting their efforts to compete for a new international shipping center . According to the world economy development, the more intercommunion, the fiercer the competition presents.As the most important and hub terminal of China, Shanghai had played a more and more important role in national economy and social development. However, now she comes up against her development bottleneck that physical condition and behindhand facilities, multi-transportation circumstance do not match with the development trend of larger-size vessel. In the meanwhile, Hong Kong and Singapore, Busan had carried out series of measures to keep continuous development and the head situation.Comparing with other ports, to be the international shipping centre, Shanghai needs to enhance her competitiveness enabling herself to face with much fiercer competition.On this occasion, through the study of port resource, we could draw a conclusion that many factors involved in the sluggish disposition, among which there are factors inside and factors outside. With the stability of the factors outside, it will be a better way to analyze the disadvantage and the advantage of Shanghai port totally and improve the advantage, so that Shanghai port can show itself in the fierce competition of Northeast Asia container ports.This thesis is striving to base on the total and systematic ideas. Firstly, the author analyzed the location, physical nature, management environment, basic facilities status, shipping development and competitiveness. Then, I used the target system model to analyze the port competitiveness between Shanghai, Hong Kong, Busan and Ningbo. In the succession, according to the evaluated result, I propose some strategic suggestion for her further continuous progress. |
