Social insurance for the elder is a very important part in Social security systems. This thesis attempts to compare the pay-as-you-go pension scheme with the funded one, which are both mechanics of financing aging social insurance. Combining that with China's reform practice, we try to provide some feasible suggestion to China's social insurance reform. According to the above clue, the thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction of the study. The second chapter will briefly introduce the development of the social insurance program all over the world. The third part analyzes the reform practice and the existing problems of China's social ageing insurance. The forth chapter compare and analyze the characteristics and the impacts on economic growth and socialwelfare of two typical pension system-----the PAYG and the fully funded. The fifth chapter structure athree-period lived dynamic simulated model in a framework of general equilibrium, which is depended on the social security program of China. Using an overlapping generation framework in which agents are three-period lived but timing of death in the third period is uncertain, we investigate the different effects on capital accumulation, education expenditures, economic growth and social welfare between pay-as-you-go security programs and a fully funded one.
