A Study On The Application Method Of Inter-organizational Process Management In China's Circulation Industry

With the tendency of international competition and global sourcing, China's circulation industry is faced with great opportunities and challenges. In order to seize the opportunities and cope with the challenges, the enterprises in this industry should analyze the root cause of their poor competitive capability carefully and mitigate the pressure on their business operation. This thesis suggests a kind of solution based on inter-organizational process management. It explores the implementation process and critical success factors of this management idea, which preliminarily establishes the methodology model of inter-organizational process management.Originated from traditional BPR (business process reengineering), process management overcomes the disadvantages of BPR and places more emphasis on customers. It tries to improve the current process in a continuous way so as to integrate processes, persons and systems within the company or among several companies. As a critical branch of process management, inter-organizational process management focuses on those processes that cross organization's boarder and extend to suppliers, clients, government and partners. Through integration of duplicated processes and optimization of inefficient processes, inter-organizational process management can help business partners to collaborate with each other, reallocate resources and realize the quick response to customers' requirements.The implementation of inter-organizational process management, which can be divided into three phases and several steps, is a cyclic process facilitating the improvement of operation efficiency and the realization of strategic goals. Some related technical and non-technical factors should also be considered during this period to ensure its successful execution.Based on the theoretical study, this thesis then analyzes a case of agricultural products company and proposes a detailed solution to its existing problems so as to demonstrate the application of inter-organizational process management in the real world.The last part of this thesis depicts the prospects of inter-organizational process management.
