The Research On China's Development Of Educational Service Trade Within WTO Context

The General Agreement on Trade in Service (GATS) regards education as a part of service trade, and China's entry into WTO will definitely have extensive and profound influence on Chinese educational service.The article analyzes on the basic side of educational service trade at first, and introduces the educational service trade rules and China's opening commitment to WTO. Based on a large amount of data, the paper analyzes the development of Chinese educational service trade from four modes of service trade (Cross-border supply, Consumption abroad, Commercial presence and Presence of natural persons). The educational trade service in China has enjoyed a rapid growth in recent years, while the whole international competitiveness of our education industry is still relatively weak. On the basis of the explanation of the theory of the educational service trade's international competitiveness, the article analyze the problems from the six factors which infect the educational service trade's international competitiveness, and the way to improve. Meanwhile, from the four modes of service trade ,the article proposes some questions about the trade. To develop our country's educational service trade, what have to be done is to change ideas, improve all the participants' performance, take advantage of education import, cultivate excellent persons, exert the original advantage to promote education export.
