Through more than twenty years of the reforming and opening, the highway transportation industry of our country has made a great progress, the personal and private transportation enterprises developed remarkably, As well as the traditional transportation enterprises achieved a fast development by reforming their operation mechanism and management system. With the country's entering WTO, the domestic transportation market is opening to the world step by step, and the requirement for a uniform highway passenger transportation market is more and more urgent. On the other hand, the foreign capital and internal capital investment bring more tension competitive pressures to the existing highway passenger transportation enterprises. Facing the new situation and challenges, the highway passenger transportation enterprises are confronting new development problems.In this thesis, based on the case of Guangxi Yuntong Bus Transportion Co.,Ltd., the author try to work out a traditional highway passenger transportation enterprise in given district and situation how to orientate enterprise's market and business, exert its advantages and achieve further development. By analyzing the company's external and internal environments, the author suggests that in the future development , the company should persist the highway passenger transportation as its core business, take the market-penetration and market development strategies as its key step, keep on strengthening its competitive advantages. Meanwhile, it could adopt the concentric diversification strategy, seek opportunities to enter the express industry or special cargo transportation, in order to develop the company's strength. Furthermore, in order to assure carrying out of the strategies, the author suggests that the company should innovate its corporate governance, improve its management of human resources, as well as to built a enterprise culture adapted to the new environment, construct the company's brand into a famous one, and prompt the enterprise conduction develop into the standardization, socialization and diversification.
