The supply chain management, which appeared in 1980s, received much attention because it opened expansive space for entrepreneurs in reducing stock, lowing costs and improving customer services etc. Supply chain management (SCM) is a concept that has flourished in manufacturing, originating from Just-In-Time (JIT) production and logistics, and it rose rapidly in developed nations.The so-called supply chain management refers to the management methods which manufactures goods with an effective combination of distributors, manufacturers, suppliers as well as clients, and distributes accurate amount of goods to correct places in right time, in order to minimize system costs and to satisfy the need of service level at the meantime. The supply chain management aims at implementing the win-win relations with the chosen partners, To Integrate the logistics, information flows together with the value flows into all participating enterprises, and improving the competitiveness of the whole supply chain.The costly and inefficient condition of construction enterprises badly needs management reform, for which the techniques and methods of the supply chain management provide feasible ways. Supply chain management for an individual organization is an emerging field of research in the construction management discipline, but less attention has been devoted to investigating the nature of the construction supply chains and their industrial organizational economic environment, supply chain management knowledge just show up in construction industry until the mid 1990s.
